The Wellington Independent Practitioners Association (WIPA) was re-named as Compass Health Wellington Trust in September, 2008.

The new name, commonly known as Compass Health, reflects the change in focus of the organisation over recent years into one which strongly supports the PHO system and their associated GP practices. It also means that the organisation is better aligned with our sister organisation, also known as Compass Health, which supports the PHOs in and around Palmerston North.

Compass Health, in both the Wellington and Palmerston North regions, remains committed to being a respected, leading-edge provider of management services that support sustainable General Practices, Primary Health Organisations and other community based providers. We aim to make a positive difference for patients, communities and providers and to work with others to improve primary health care outcomes.
