Tumai provides primary health care services to the Porirua basin community from Tawa to Pukerua Bay. Tumai is a not-for-profit Charitable Trust.

Tumai has brought together a number of groups who are all individually committed to better health for our Porirua, Tawa and Linden communities. The partners of Tumai are:

• Compass Health Wellington Trust (ex WIPA)

• Te Roopu Awhina

• Ngati Tama

• Vai Ola

• Community representative.

Tumai acknowledges the diversity of the Porirua community, and the breadth of health and community services that are needed to effectively identify priorities and meet needs. It brings together the range of expertise that will have the best chance of delivering services that will reach the Maori, Pacific and low-income populations who do not enjoy the same health status as other community groups.
